Don Bosco, Matunga participated in LEAD (Learn, Explore, Adapt & Develop) 2019, an Edelweiss Initiative. It was a daylong event at Fountainhead, Edelweiss’ ambient learning centre at Alibaug on Monday, 28th Jan 2019. Students were given an opportunity to get an exposure to short film making. The topic was Social Relevance in today’s world.
Prior to the event, a very enthusiastic school team of 5 members worked to get themselves ready for the displays and presentations. The day dawned and all of us were excited to go to Fountainhead, Alibaug. The sea journey to Alibaug was enthralling with the sea gulls all around us as we travelled. On reaching our destination, we were welcomed by the Fountainhead team with a welcome drink and a nutritious breakfast. Eighteen schools all over Mumbai participated.
Once refreshed and without further ado, we started viewing the presentations prepared by each school. These were very inspiring and provided us an enriching experience. We had a glimpse of the socially relevant activities organized in each school. Our school chose the topic,”Cleanliness” -an issue very close to our heart. After viewing the short films prepared by each school, we headed to the venue of the project exhibition. Here we viewed a wide array of exhibits which fascinated us.
Post these activities, a sumptuous meal awaited us. After enjoying the meal, we were part of a very enriching seminar, “Flight to Success” by a renowned speaker Ketan Gawand.
Meeting the school teams and getting knowledge of their experiences were all a part of the initiative. We were indeed fortunate to be part of “LEAD 2019” and were proud contributors towards it. Edelweiss congratulated Don Bosco, Matunga for being the Top Green School in India and wished our school all the success in our future endeavors.
At the end of the day’s program, every team member of the participating schools was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for their contribution.
