Mani Bhavan -One Act Play (Primary Section) – 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi
-Ms. Kashmira Rodrigues
The day started well with all the participants assembling at the music room on the 2nd floor of the Primary School Building. All the boys were looking smart, dressed up in their costumes. The journey from school to Mani Bhavan commenced at 9 a.m. on the 17th of September. The museum and historical building dedicated to Gandhiji, Mani Bhavan, situated at Gamdevi, was filled with young talent from schools across Mumbai and one can proudly say that Don Bosco boys are regular visitors here, taking part in the various competitions held every year.
Our 10 enthusiastic boys having come prepared with their parts and with regular practice and fine tuning by the teachers, took to the stage with confidence to perform this amazing skit. The play was about Gandhiji’s love and care towards the poor and needy. There was a powerful message for all those who witnessed this heartwarming skit. Our boys were thrilled to act out their parts and they indeed did a brilliant job. The parents too played an important role in supporting and preparing the required props. The boys had to be very loud and clear while performing the skit, as there was no mic or amplifier set up. After all the hard work put in, the boys gave a memorable performance. This was a great opportunity for the Primary Bosco boys to showcase their talents, while enacting the life of such a great man whom we lovingly call Bapuji.
