Low waste living-A Greenline workshop
A report compiled by Sahil Jadhav – Std IX

A workshop on low waste living was conducted on 11th August 2018 by the Greenline team at Provincial house, Don Bosco Matunga. The workshop was attended by Sahil – Std IX, Sarvesh -Std IX and Manprem – Std X. They were accompanied by a parent Mrs. Manisha Jadhav. The session was conducted by Ms. Mehendi Sivadasani a.k.a Conscious Chokri.
In this session the children were introduced to zero waste living following the principles of
– Buy
– Make
– Swap
– Borrow
– See what you have
The session showcased eco-friendly ideas to make shampoos and scrubs. Shampoos were made by using shikakai reetha and water. Scrubs were prepared using waste or strained coffee, coconut oil and sugar.
The session was very informative and interesting. The children were really excited to attend the session and hope to carry these ideas to their class, home and neighbourhood.
