Let’s Splash through the week
-Ms. Colleen Azavedo

“Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth, without rain there would be no life.”
After the long summer months, our city cooled off with the downpour of cool, refreshing rain. The students of the Primary section at Don Bosco, Matunga welcomed the monsoon by celebrating Monsoon week from 6th August to 11th August 2018, correlating academics with extracurricular activities.
The week began with discussion in the classrooms making students aware of needs, sources, importance of water, advantages and disadvantages, scarcity of water etc. Through the different activities in and outside of the classroom, the children were encouraged to write slogans on ways to save water, safeguard it and means to keep our water bodies clean. The teacher used PPT, songs, poems, videos and craft articles to enhance the learning process of the child.
The students watched videos on rain water, harvesting techniques, and got to understand that water is one of the fastest depleting natural resource in present time. The week drew to a close with the students collating their work, learning and activity onto their worksheet. It was an enthusiastic learning experience for our children through fun filled activities.
Rains are gift of nature to the world that not only beautifies everything around us but also transports us into a sense of peace and tranquility.
