On 15th September 2020, it was the turn of Std 6C to conduct the virtual class assembly. In the introductory speech, the school management and the staff were warmly welcomed for this virtual assembly. After which the National Anthem was sung. The class teacher Mrs. Pallavi Shah then led the assembly into prayer. There were 15 speakers accompanied by a few singers. 15th September is celebrated as Engineering Day across India. Hence the class students came up with a unique idea to find a solution to build the world with the help of technology and engineering advancements. Fifteen speakers spoke on different ways on how to put up these ideas in practice.
One of the speakers spoke on the famous engineer, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Another speaker mentioned that we will still need to be surrounded by happy people. Our aim should be to build mental health, physical health, nutrition, health care, education, professions of future, technology/innovation and community. We need to build our resilience for tomorrow so that we have the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties.
The session on technology and its future was followed by a beautiful song sung by the students, titled “What a wonderful world” (by Louis Armstrong). A conversation then followed between ‘2020’ and ‘2040’.
The meet concluded with the Rector, Fr. Crispino D’souza narrating a story of Mokshagundam Visvesvaray that took place in his life. The Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes praised the class teacher and the students of Std. 6C for their hard work and efforts in putting up a good performance in conducting their first virtual class assembly.
