Keep Smiling Day-Std III
Mrs. Christy Jagdish
‘Be true to your teeth and they won’t be false to you.’ The tooth is the only part of the body that can’t heal itself. So we need to protect it. To create awareness on dental hygiene among the students of Std III the teachers organized Keep Smiling Day on December 10, 2019 and co-related the same with the topic in EVS ‘Pearly Teeth, Healthy Body.’
Mrs. Christy welcomed Dr. Atul Indurkhya and Dr. Chaya the resource persons through a short introduction. They conducted an informative and interactive session in the Conference Hall for the students and teachers. The boys received a deeper insight and understanding of how they need to take care of their teeth, why cavities are formed and the ill-effects of junk food. The fact ‘Don’t rush when you brush’ was clearly explained with illustrations. Dr. Chaya quoted ‘Our teeth are the gateway for good health.’ She created an interesting and enthusiastic environment with her captivating speech and health care tips. This session helped the boys to realize the famous saying ‘Better teeth, Better health’.
A few videos were viewed by the students and they grasped important tips to take care of their own teeth. Later during the day they solved a work-sheet. Aditya Yadav from Std III A quipped, ‘I will make sure that I go for a dental check – up twice a year.’
