Junior Science research team reaches the pre-state round!
-contributed by Mrs. Anita Philip

The NCSC (National Children Science Congress) is an ideal and innovative programme for children to inspire, empower and expand their minds to world. Over the last three years, our students under the guidance of Mrs. Anita Philip have benefited from this program and have made inroads in the field of science research. This year we had four our teams enrolled for this program, and they were well animated and guided by Mrs. Anita Philip, Ms. Arati, Ms. Seeja, and Ms. Yugandhara.
At the qualification round, three of these research teams were selected for the pre-district level. They were:
1. De-Polymerization of recyclable plastic [Pyrolysis]-Siddhant Kumar, Ayaan Khan, Vighnesh Nadar and Renish Nadar of Std V.
2. Awareness and actions taken towards waste management for clean, green and healthy environment.- Kyle Rosario, Jeffery Nadar, Malcolm Monserrate, Elijah Machado and Ness Mandot of Std VII.
3. Rain water Harvesting and its Portable solutions- Hriday Sangoi, Sachin Subbiah, Hrishikesh Nayak, Dean Mascarenhas and Varun Elavia-Std VIII.
The Oral presentation of Mumbai District was held on 11th Oct 2018 in Bombay Cambridge international School, Andheri East, Mumbai from 9 am to 6 pm. In all there were 250 projects at the ward level scrutiny round out of which 110 got selected-3 of these projects were from our school. From these 110 projects at the pre district level 21 each were selected from Sr. and Jr. groups. The team on ‘Waste management awareness’ was one of these. At the District level from the 21 teams, 8 teams qualified for the pre-State scrutiny round. Again, our team on ‘Waste management awareness’ made us proud by qualifying for this level.
The team of De-Polymerization (Siddhant and Aayan represented the group at the oral round, both from Std. V) was appreciated by the judges for being the youngest child researchers in the competition.
All our teams have worked very hard and given their best to ensure quality work at the research. As we thank and congratulate these students and their teachers, we wish to thank the parents too for the cooperation extended in getting the students research on the topics assigned to them.
