“Holiness for you too!” -Sr KG Cultural day
-Mrs. Tasneem Ansari
A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. One could visualise this at the Cultural Day celebrated by the Sr KG boys on 15th February 2020 in the Bianchi hall. The decor created a beautiful ambience to make the audience feel at home. The staircase and the entrance were emblazoned with floral decorations and messages of joy and happiness. The backdrop expounded the virtues of Don Bosco which was also the theme of the Cultural Day “Holiness for you too”.
The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the distinguished assembly of guests. Later the comperes warmly welcomed the audience comprising parents and the Management-Fr Crispino D’souza our Rector, Fr Bernard Fernandes our Principal, Sir Cliff Richard our Vice Principal, Ms Griselda the Primary Head Teacher and Ms Shoba the Kg Supervisor through their welcome speech and then followed by a melodious welcome song by the boys. To feel the presence of God and to begin with His name, the boys presented a Prayer dance offering their loving hearts and precious hands to the Divine. Fr Rector spoke to the parents giving them a meaningful message.
To explicate the theme, the skit decoded the meaning of “Holiness” as to making God the centre of our life, thinking of others and enriching ourselves by helping others. This left the audience to ponder over ‘God, Others and Themselves”, something to take home and think about. The boys regaled the audience with their great acting, compering, melodious singing and graceful dancing. The audience applauded at different moments which motivated the boys. The parents and the guest were captivated by the enchanting performance presented by the boys. Fr Principal in his speech to the parents said that the triumph was made possible because of the relentless efforts of the teachers and Supervisor Ms Shoba. In his inspiring speech he motivated the parents to be with their children in their journey of joy and happiness. The vote of thanks to the revered assembly of guests, parents and non-teaching staff was delivered by the comperes from each class. The boys then bid farewell to the audience with a beautiful song.
The event came to an end on a happy note and each parent praised their child’s performance. “Awesome event with good social messages and thoughts” said one of the parents on success of the cultural day programme.
