High achievers at the State level -Tennis and Football
-Mr. Barrington Serrao

Consistency, hard work and passion have paid off for our aspiring sportspersons. Any reward at the state level is commendable and worthy of acclaim. Our young lads have pulled it off in tennis and football over the last couple of weeks.
In tennis, we have a new Maharashtra champion in Master Shivam Kadam who won the Gold Medal at the DSO, State U17 Lawn Tennis championship 2018 held at Balewadi, Pune from 29 Oct. to 1st Nov. 2018. He will now be representing the U/17 Maharashtra team in the 64th National School Games Tennis Championship 2018-19 to be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 6 to 12 Dec. 2018. Shivam again made a mark at the National stage by being the Finalist in U14 and Semi Finalist in U16-All India Tennis Super Series 2018, held at Bengal Tennis Association, Salt Lake, Kolkata from 12 Nov to16 Nov. 2018. Congratulations to Shivam, his coach and ever supportive parents!
This year, going by the high standard that we have set for ourselves, the football trophies and accolades have dried up for a while in the senior section. However, the u-14 team brought cheer to the camp by emerging Runner’s-Up at the DSO Shalay Inter-State football tournament played at Chhatrapati Shivaji High School and Junior college, Sagroli,Taluka Biloli, Nanded from 11th to 13th Nov 2018, Our team lost to Kolhapur 4-1 in the tie-breaker in the finals. Three of our boys have been selected to represent Maharashtra-Master Vedant Sawant 9-D, Master Jorryn Fernandes 9-D and Master Garrick D’Souza 8-B. They will be leaving for Nagpur on 19th November for the Camp and then to Assam for the National Matches. We wish them success at this level. Our thanks to the team coach Sir Pillai, the support staff, the parents who accompanied our team at the state level tournament and the management!
