Helping Hands Make Good Neighbours-Cultural Day Std:3
Cultural Day motivates a child to present himself with confidence before an audience. It helps build in children their self esteem and self belief besides enhancing their stage and oratory skills. Std 3 cultural day held on Saturday, 1st September 2018, in the Bianchi hall enabled our young Boscoites to achieve these and much more. Present at the gathering was the Rector Fr.Crispino D’Souza, Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes, Vice-Principal and Administrator Fr.Roy Noronha, Head teacher of the Primary section Mrs. Griselda Fernandes and the Kg Supervisor Mrs. Shoba D’Souza.
The hall was packed to capacity with parents and relatives of the children of Std 3 to cheer and egg on their wards. The programme began on a humorous note with a couple of Std 3 students dressed as grandparents mimicked their mannerisms and extended a hearty welcome to the guests in the audience. The students of Std 3A invoked God’s blessings on the assembly through a prayer dance. An action song ‘Long live love’ by the students of 3C got the parents to shake a leg and involve themselves right away with the day’s proceedings. A beautiful skit through song and dance was then enacted by the students of Std 3 D on the theme of the day ‘Helping Hands make good neighbour’. A touch of gratitude to the parents was conveyed by Std:3B boys through their melodious songs.
The Rector, Rev. Fr. Crispino D’Souza while addressing the gathering stated, “We need to take care of each other. There is a God up above who cares for us”. The execution of the day’s program highlighted the importance of team work as also underscored the depth of the theme. It was an amazing show by the students well trained by their class teachers and music master Sir Saby Franco, and coordinated by the head teacher Ms. Griselda. The parents pitched in to help with the decorations, costumes and discipline. The Principal, Fr. Bernard Fernandes echoed these thoughts in his speech while congratulating the entire team for the performance.
The efforts and the fruits of the day’s activity didn’t go unnoticed among the parents and the students. They couldn’t thank their teachers and organizers enough. Said Ayaan Rao, a student of Std 3A, “We thoroughly enjoyed our Cultural Day. We realized the importance of team work. A sincere thank you to all our teachers!”
