Handwriting Competition Std. I to IV
-Ms. Mary Fernandes
Handwriting speaks volumes about an individual. No matter how much technology may make the place of handwriting, the significance and notability of handwriting is still prevalent and increasing.
Bearing in mind the quote, ‘Handwriting is an imprint of the self on Page’, a Handwriting Competition was organized for the boys of Don Bosco Primary School, Matunga on 8th November, 2019.
The competition provided the students with an opportunity to display their competency in legible handwriting. The competition was organized in each classroom. The teachers at Don Bosco are aware that handwriting is an essential skill for students. It is an incredibly important exercise for students to develop fine motor skills and cognition. It activates the brain and contributes to reading fluency. Majority of the students put their best foot forward to enhance their handwriting and wrote in their best hand. Some of the key parameters the judges took into account included presentation, legibility of the written content, the spacing between words and accuracy. The competition was a useful exercise in developing neat handwriting which will always help in clarity of thought and jotting these thoughts in an organized manner. The students were motivated to write well and enjoyed the competition.
