Handprints to Treasure
Ms. Tejashree Vesvikar
In the words of Aastha Kochar, “Every child is a different kind of a flower and together they make this world a beautiful garden”. Keeping this quote in mind I am Unique and Special Day was celebrated by the students of Std.1 on June 30, 2020 by making handprints on the paper with their loving soft and tiny hands.
With the urge to make this day a memorable one for the tiny tots the teachers exhibited their innovative ideas to the parents through Google Meet discussion. They also explicated on the activity to be done at home as the children would require a helping hand to complete it. The class teachers shared a video through the Google classroom which made the little ones feel special about themselves and proud of whom they are. “It takes courage to be you”, so goes the saying. To this effect, there was an interview to make the children aware of how good it is to be different and to be the real you!
The song posted inspired the young Boscoites to embrace themselves of having different qualities, looks, habits, choice and unique talents. They learnt to recognize themselves and explore their own talents.
Many children enthusiastically performed the activity on a drawing paper and wrote a poem that was shared by the teacher. They used colourful paints, crayons, stickers to decorate their work with the impression of their hand. Thus, the activity made every child understand that they are unique and beautiful creation of God.
