GIVING is what matters-Class assembly Std 8 A
-Mrs. Vandana Thouti

We all know how great it feels to receive gifts. However, the joy of getting is short-lived. Our lives get richer when we share, and the great inner joy comes from helping others to better their lives. Giving from the heart fills your life with joy and nourishes your soul. Giving provides an intrinsic reward that’s far more valuable than the gift one receives.
Class 8th A conducted a virtual assembly on 9th December 2020 based on the valuable theme for Christmas “GIVING MAKES ONE HAPPY AND HAPPINESS IN RETURN GIVES A BETTER HEALTH”. The class teacher, Ms. Vandana welcomed all the members of the management-Fr. Rector, Fr. Principal, Vice Principal, School coordinator, the supervisor, teachers and the students of class 8th A to the virtual class assembly. The class teacher then conducted a meditation which created the atmosphere for a calm and focused attention of the viewers.
The message of Giving was conveyed in the form of a skit which was showcased in two scenes. The first scene depicted a situation where a man offers free dinner to the needy people on a Thanksgiving day having come to the realization that it is important to offer according to one’s capacity which could change someone’s life.
The second scene was about a boy who doesn’t understand the importance to be happy with what he has. He feels that small offerings may not impact someone’s life. His mother asks him to offer the leftover food to a hungry person and also asks him to invite an orphan girl to celebrate Thanksgiving day with his family. To the mother’s satisfaction and joy, her son realizes the value of small offerings and also understands the importance of spending time with the family.
The students sang a beautiful song by accompanying instruments “Just be Happy Happy” which added warmth and variety to the assembly.
The Rector, Fr. Crispino congratulated class 8th A and shared his valuable words with the class emphasizing the true meaning of Giving specially during the month of Christmas. The Principal, Fr. Bernard also appreciated the hard work put in by the students to make the assembly a success. He also commented on the novel idea of integrating a ted talk in the assembly and maintaining the continuity of the assembly through a recorded viewing.
