Clean and Green is our perfect dream-Sr Kg class event
-Mrs. Berlin Noronha
“Cleanliness and order are not matters of instinct, they are matters of education and like most great things, you must cultivate a taste for them.” -Benjamin Disraeli
It is imperative that we inculcate the value of cleanliness in our students to stay away from various diseases and catastrophes we bring due to the lack of basic hygiene and cleanliness. The year 2020, more than ever, has brought the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and order to the forefront in light of the Corona virus pandemic. The young minds of our Sr KG were particularly enthusiastic about spreading this message through their online interactive class event on 17th July 2020.
It is rightly said that home is the cradle of all habits where a child imbibes values and then comes the teacher in the school to infuse the right values to maintain cleanliness not only at home but around us, be it our school, our public places like parks, streets, public transport, and most important ways to keep the air we breathe pollution-free.
By means of power point presentations, songs, and poems, the boys were first explained the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and the causes that make the surroundings dirty. A small video clip depicted how the children could be a part in the cleanliness marathon. A few selected boys were given an opportunity to express their thoughts on cleanliness which included its importance at home, in public transports, at school, on the street, at the park and means to be adopted to prevent air pollution and maintain air purity. The bright little minds came up with some great thoughts and ideas about the importance of cleanliness and voiced the importance of maintaining it.
At the class activity the Sr. KG students, with the help of their parents, pleasantly surprised the teachers with their impressive models to recycle waste to keep our surroundings clean.
The boys with their parents engaged themselves in the creative preparation of useful articles out of waste material such as pencil shavings, old bottles and newspaper. They also enjoyed helping their Mums dust the furniture and clean the house.
The teachers appreciated their efforts and encouraged the students to set an example for others.
Thus, with their spirits soaring high, our little heroes though home bound, savored the virtual class event!
