Christmas isn’t a Season, it’s a Feeling at Don Bosco Matunga
Mrs. Shahnaaz Abbas
Christmas at Don Bosco Matunga is always very festive. It is a time of celebration, a time to reach out and share, a time of joy and merriment, a time to play and make good cheer.
After the culmination of the Christmas Panorama a hectic fun-filled activity a staff get together was held in the school premises on December 20th, 2019 where the old and the young, the present and the past met to greet each other in a well animated Christmas Party hosted by the School Management. An atmosphere of warmth and love pervaded the atmosphere. The March at the beginning to popular Christmas songs defined the mood for the day. The well organised games by an enthusiastic Games Committee had the fun loving staff of Don Bosco engaged in camaraderie and playfulness. The ‘Secret Santa` now a tradition here, witnessed prayer and bonding among the staff as they exchanged gifts of love and friendship thoughtfully chosen much before the occasion.
The retired staff of the school graced the occasion reminiscing about the days gone by and made it known to all those present how grateful they are to the Management for remembering to make them a part of this joyous occasion year in and year out. The Rector of the school Rev. Fr. Crispino D’Souza spoke about the love and bonding that exists here which keeps drawing one and all nearer to each other. He acknowledged the enriching moments when he met each staff member in the months preceding Christmas. The staff let their hair down as they took to the dance floor. Fr. Elson said a short prayer as the sumptuous spread was laid out. The Management gifted tokens of fondness and appreciation to the staff.
The staff is rejuvenated to enjoy Christmas and are energised to face all that the year 2020 will bring.
