Christmas is the spirit of Giving without a thought of Getting
-Ms. Tejashree Vesvikar
“Christmas isn’t about candy canes or lights all aglow, it’s the hearts that we touch and the care that we show”. As cited, the school observed the Christmas Panorama Care-N-Share Programme in the month of December. The students of the Primary section of Don Bosco High School actively participated by involving support from their parents in this noble deed to contribute towards the destitute and underprivileged children. The collection drive was held from 9th December to 14th December 2019.
The school aimed at contributing generously to help and share with the marginalized children and youth of Dungalpitiya this year. Keeping this aim in mind the teachers spread a word and encouraged students through their morning talks and inspired them to share with love. The kids willingly donated new books, stationary, jam, sauce, pickles, soaps, tooth brush, tooth paste, towels and bed sheets. Most of the collection has been resourced to the children in Dungalpitiya. The outreach program conducted by the school also allocated the assortments to various Don Bosco Institutions mainly in the following regions-Suket in Rajasthan, Shelter Don Boscoin Nasik , Tanakhla in Gujarat, Jeevodaya in Itarsi as well as Aurangabad.
The Outreach program was a fruitful thought of cultivating value of Sharing and Caring with Love among children this Christmas. As Saint Francis Assisi rightly quoted “For it is in giving that we receive” the students received a learning experience that it is in giving that we receive happiness and Christmas means Sharing happiness with others.
