The Season to Sparkle Together with Joy and Holiness!
“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most” -Ruth Carter Stapleton
Christmas brings cheer, love, joy, gaiety and happiness. The students of the Primary section of Don Bosco High School Matunga, imbibed the spirit of Christmas with fervour by celebrating Christmas Festive Week from 9th to 14th December 2019. The entire Primary section wore a festive look as the classrooms were decorated with shiny stars, tingling fairy bells, glittering streamers, sparkling lights and the Christmas nativity in a crib. The Christmas trees were decked up beautifully. The days began with the echoes of melodious carols sung by our boys during the Assembly. Related to the theme of Joy and Holiness Christmas messages were given by the Head Teacher and the teachers through the enriching morning talks. Interactive discussions and videos such as the story of Christmas-The birth of Jesus Christ, the meaning of the Christmas symbols, stories on the spirit of giving to those who need were shown to the children in their respective classrooms to enlighten the students about the true meaning of the festival.
The delightful celebration included various activities where the students were engaged in preparing craft articles such as pretty Christmas trees, smiling Santa faces and cute Santa cards. Very innovative and interesting worksheets consisting of drawing, colouring, quizzes, captions and more were happily completed by the students. The activities planned for the week made the boys happier.
The students learnt the importance of the true spirit of Christmas and its gaiety. The Boscoites merrily contributed their bit to the ‘Care N Share’ program of the school cheerfully. It was indeed true that the warmth of Christmas was felt from the heart. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of all the children. It was a fascinating and enjoyable Christmas celebration, felt the students.
