-Miss Jansi Dharamraj
“Listen to Jesus and follow Him, That’s the message of Transfiguration.” -Pope Francis
Through these words, Pope Francis beautifully sums up the duty of every Christian. The Catholic boys of grades 4 to 10 of and the staff members of Don Bosco High School and Don Bosco International School, Matunga, assembled in the shrine of Mary, Help of Christians for the celebration of the feast of ‘Transfiguration of Christ Jesus’ on 6th August,2019 at 9:15am.
The main celebrant Rector Fr. Crispino D’souza was joined by the con-celebrant Fr. Bernard Fernandes, the principal of Don Bosco High School at the Holy Eucharist. At the homily an inspiring message given by Fr. Crispino that helped the boys understand well the ‘Transfiguration of Christ’. ‘Transfiguration’ means ‘to transform.’ At the transfiguration, the two persons who appeared next to Jesus were Moses who represented the law (the ten Commandments) and Elijah representing all the prophets. The disciples present with Jesus at the scene witnessed Christ in all his glory. The Transfiguration of Christ gives us the message that we need to constantly get in touch with Jesus by praying every day and it’s during the times of difficulties we experience God in a deeper way. We come to believe that He will never leave us nor forsake us. If we keep these things in mind, like Jesus, we too will be transformed in our lives radiating the matchless glory of God.
The animated liturgy and the impressive choir made the celebration lively and participative.
After communion, a prayer was made especially for all priests on the occasion of Vianney Sunday celebrated on Sunday, 4th Aug, and the three priests who are the members of the management were felicitated on the occasion.
