Celebrating Republic Day – Assembly Std 9 F

As India celebrated its 69th Republic Day, Don Bosco Matunga marked an assembly -in the presence of our smartly attired NCC, Scouts and RSP troupes – that witnessed the unfurling of the National flag and singing of the National Anthem. The theme of the assembly–India–One Big Family was portrayed by the boys of Std 9 F.

What does democracy mean, how did we decide to have a democratic system of government, and the situation today of the progress made in the country were depicted through a skit. A dance and song dedicated to our motherland portraying oneness and respect were showcased.

Fr.Crispino D’Souza, our Rector addressed the gathering highlighting the values of justice, equality, liberty and fraternity enshrined in our Constitution. He stressed the need to treat everyone equally beginning with respect for our house help who keep the area in the school clean. On our part, we need to keep the surroundings clean, for this is the only way to show our respect to them and treat them with equality.

The prize distribution felicitating the students on their achievements which is usually held on Annual Day was conducted this year on this day. It was a proud moment for all the boys who were appreciated for their hard work, dedication and sincerity.
