Bosco Kalautsav-A creative lab for our future scientists
-Ms. Sydelle Mascarenhas
“Every brilliant experiment, like every great work of art, starts with an act of imagination.”
The Creative Lab event for Bosco Kala Utsav was held on 19th September, 2020. As an in charge of the event there was a lot of prior planning and preparation that took place. Meetings were scheduled with the boys who volunteered to participate. They were instructed on how they could use their creativity to display and present their work virtually.
The creative lab event was a good platform for the students to showcase their creative and mechanical skills. Though it was a new concept for the Bosco Kala Utsav, the students with the collective guidance from the teachers, parents, and their passion to invent or create were very impressive. The boys used the resources available and made their home and kitchen their laboratory.
There were a lot of challenges that were very new to them. Trying out the experiments, assembling all the components precisely, recording, editing, re-recording till they were satisfied. When faced with all these challenges, the lesson they learnt was if they don’t find solutions to their problems, they would be precipitated out. The end result was indeed rewarding. There was good teamwork and a great learning experience for both the teachers and the students.
Mrs. Anita took the opportunity to thank the judge Mrs. Siddhi Gosavi for virtually judging the event and for the feedback that she gave the participants. Mrs. Siddhi also elucidated that looking at the experiments done by the students there is a sign of positive hope that we have some scientists exploring themselves and achieving their dreams in the future. Her motivational feedback built the morale of the participants.
Mrs. Anita appreciated the work done by the boys and thanked their parents too for their support and cooperation. She thanked the staff members for their support and for being there as the technical backup for the event.
The event was a successful one giving us the insight about the various techniques and methods used in science.
