14 February, 2017

The students of Std II celebrated Animal Welfare Day on 1 February2017. This was in keeping with the curriculum. To mark the celebration, the students were asked to get a mask or puppet of any animal. An interactive discussion was conducted in the classroom. The children plunged into the animal kingdom and were one with nature. The wildlife video shown to them was informative. It threw light on those aspects of wildlife which they were not aware of. The worksheet prepared on animals further enhanced their knowledge about our forest friends. The children were disheartened by the fact that we ill-treat animals. Their intelligent yet haunting statement still echoes: “Don’t hurt animals as they have feelings too, if animals would speak they would tell us who the real animal is…..”
