A joy that’s shared is a joy made double-Class Assembly 8 A
-Ms. Sydelle Mascarenhas
The students of class 8A along with their class teacher Ms. Sydelle presented their assembly on the topic ‘Sharing Hope, Peace and Joy with Love’.
The theme of Advent was introduced as we await the arrival of Jesus in Hope. The focus of the assembly was also on theme we have for the Care-N-Share Christmas Panorama this year where we have decided to generously help and share with the marginalized children and the youth of Dungalpitiya.
The students depicted a unique birthday celebration with the children of the orphanage where they experienced the joy of giving to someone who really needs it. An activity on ‘The bond we share with each other’ was conducted where two volunteers one each from Std 8 and 9 came forward to perform this activity. The students learnt that if we take efforts to restore broken bonds and forgive each other we are drawn closer together and can live in peace.
The students created awareness on how the Don Bosco evening study class is conducted every day in the evening in our school and caters to the needs of the underprivileged youth of the neighbourhood. This is done under the direct supervision of Fr. Principal.
The students performed an energetic dance and conveyed the message that the rewards of sharing are priceless and we have the ability to share.
The Rector Fr. Crispino D’Souza complimented the students for presenting a good assembly and also appreciated the scenes presented which gave a positive message. He also shared his experiences about the Don Bosco International School events and the Mistletone magic that was organized over the weekend.
The Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes lauded the efforts of the students and the teacher for conducting a well-planned assembly. Fr. Principal made a special mention of the theme and the backdrop which was simple yet unique. He also thanked the parents for their presence at the assembly to encourage their children.
