A grand Cultural Day-Std III
-Ms. Ranjana Bhandare

Cultural Days at Don Bosco Matunga are notable events that are held every year in the Primary Section. An elaborate planning for practices, drama, singing, costumes and participation of parents is noticed during these days. The Cultural Day is the high point in the academic life of a Primary section Boscoite. These occasions provide for our young students an opportunity to discover their inmate talents and develop confidence in them.

The Cultural Day of Std III was held on August 3, 2019 at 10.30a.m. in the Bianchi Hall. The building was adorned with beautiful d├ęcor. The theme for the Cultural Day was “Holiness is a Divine Gift”. Parents and relatives of the students of Std III were present in large numbers in the hall to encourage their children performing on stage. The students participated enthusiastically and every child put his best foot forward to make this event a memorable event. Each class presented an item that conveyed the message on spreading holiness, kindness and being the change that they would like to see in the world. There were songs, dances, well rehearsed speeches and an inspiring skit ‘Holiness A Gift’ presented by the students. Fr. Rector struck a chord with the parents through his message delivered in Hindi where he spoke to them on the importance of the mind and the matter, the spiritual over the temporal.
The production was well appreciated by the parents and the Principal had a special word of praise for the students, class teachers, Head Teacher and the supporting staff. The hard work, dedication and the meticulous planning by the teachers contributed much to its grand success. ‘Beautifully conducted event and awesome song selection;well done and thanks in loads,’ said Mr. Pratik Shirkar parent of Std III D. The Cultural Day of Std III in touching upon such a theme provided food for the thought to the appreciative audience.
