A feast mass for the students
-Mrs Reena Perumbully

The occasion was solemn. The day 31st January significant. It was the feast day of our Father and Founder St John Bosco. The feast mass for the Catholic students of the school was celebrated on Friday 1st Feb 2019. Students from Stds 3 to 9 along with the representative staff were present for the Eucharist. Students and staff from DBIS too joined at the mass to be a part of the festivities.

Former AVEC Director of the Mumbai ABE, and presently the Assistant Parish Priest at St Dominic Savio Church, Wadala (E), Fr Cleophas Braganza sdb, was the main celebrant. He was joined at the altar by the Principal Fr Bernard Fernandes and our Vice-Principal Fr Roy Noronha.

During the homily Fr Cleophas spoke on the Good Shepherd as reflected in the reading of the day. He invited each youngster present to be a good and effective shepherd in his/ her own way in the school, class, home and neighborhood doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way. That was sanctity in the Oratory of Don Bosco and in any Salesian institution.

The presence of altar servers and the school choir at mass provided the aesthetic and solemn touch to the proceedings, while the animation of the mass lent moments for reflection and prayer.

May Don Bosco our patron saint continue to inspire and bless us!
