71st Republic Day Celebration
-Mrs. Valenka Fernandes

To celebrate the 71st Republic Day of our country and pay homage to our founding fathers, Don Bosco High School Matunga celebrated the day with solemnity along with the Management, Staff and the Uniformed Troops (NCC, Scouts, RSP, Cubs) of the school. Rev Fr Bernard Fernandes, the Principal, led the gathering with a prayer.
As is customary two of our retired Staff representatives (end term April 2020) Mrs Lynnette Remedios and Mrs. Colleen Azavedo hoisted the flag which was followed by the Student Council initiating the gathering with the National Anthem, the Pledge and Preamble. Rev Fr Principal proposed the Vote of Thanks. The Principal also reminded everyone present on the significance of the day’s celebration. On this day when India became a republic with its own Constitution, we take pride of our diversity, traditions and rich culture.
The Vice-Principal Mr. Cliff Richard D’Souza (Vice Principal) dispersed the gathering to mark the end of the day’s solemn ceremony.
