Please God, Not People
-Ms Jansi Dharamraj
“Be faithful in little things because it is in them that your strength lies. To the good God nothing is little because He is so great and we are so small.”-Mother Teresa
As it is a tradition in Don Bosco High school, Matunga, to celebrate mass before beginning any good work, the school students and staff gathered at the shrine of Our Mary Help of Christians on 8th November, 2019 to mark a new beginning of second term and implore for God’s grace after the Diwali vacation.
The main celebrant for the mass was Father Roy Noronha, the ex-vice-principal and an administrator of the school; the concelebrant was the principal of the school Father Bernard Fernandes. The homily by Father Roy opened with a story of the woodcutter who chooses to be wise and clever. It threw light on being shrewd and to work diligently in all that we do and that “He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.” Luke 16:10
Father Bernard Fernandes extended his gratitude to the choir conducted by Mrs Daphne and Sir Sherone for the meaningful and touching hymns, which helped the congregation to pray well. He also thanked Mrs Elizabeth Soares for a good animation of the day’s liturgy.
It was indeed a new beginning with God first of everything.
