Rejuvenated after the long summer break, spirited young faces arrived back to school, ready to journey through the academic year 2016-2017, the jubilee year of Don Bosco High School, Matunga.

Every auspicious beginning is marked by an invocation to the Almighty, and we began the day by praying together at Mass and at the prayer service conducted by the students of Class X A. ‘The Power Of Prayer Lives On,’ the boys explained, giving us the importance of recognizing God’s presence in our midst at all times. Rev. Fr. Wilfred D’Souza, our Rector, urged the boys to form in themselves a spirit of prayer, to live at all times in the presence of God and consequently, to find peace and the confidence to successfully carry out all tasks.

Rev. Fr. Wilfred also declared the theme for this academic year- ‘Don Bosco Lives On.’

At the end of the assembly, the students trooped into their new classrooms to meet with their new class teachers and fellow mates, before going back home to share their joyful tidings.

The members of the management, along with the teachers, went on to attend the Rector’s Conference, wherein Rev. Fr. Wilfred expounded upon the timeless teachings of the father and the founder of the prestigious institution that now proudly celebrates its seventy-five years.
