Don Bosco Primary School Matunga wore a heartbroken look as the Head teacher of the Primary section Mrs. Winfred Fernandes bid adieu to the institution she served for twenty-five years. Mrs. Winfred is an extraordinary teacher with extraordinary qualities that has made her different from the others. One of the most dedicated teachers who inculcated discipline and etiquette made us feel blessed by her presence. Her contribution in the field of education and co curricular activities has made Don Bosco Primary School unique. Her hard work, love and dedication towards the school has been noteworthy.
On 31st August, 2016 Don Bosco Primary School Matunga gave a worthy send-off to the Head Teacher on reaching her retirement – and coincidentally, a completion of her 25 years tenure at the school. The Head teacher was personally escorted by the members of the management, K.G. Supervisor Mrs.Shoba D’Souza, her successor Mrs. Griselda Fernandes, the Captain and the Vice-Captain of the Primary section. The students stole her heart through their songs, beautiful bouquet and a power point presentation reminiscing her years at DB Matunga. Each one succeeded in bringing a smile, a roaring laugh and tears of happiness. The trained choir added to the joyous celebration. Ms. Winifred in her farewell speech outlined her engagement in different activities in her retired life viz. reading books, spending quality time with family and friends, and accepting new challenges in life. Ms. Shoba and Fr. Bernard, in their speeches thanked Ms. Winifred for her dedicated service at Don Bosco Matunga these many years, and wished her a happy and joyous retired life.
Dear Head teacher, as you put your boots and embark on a new quest, we want to wish you the very best and also let you know, that no matter where you go, on your return, you will always be welcomed back in school with warm Hugs and Hellos. God Bless!
