Time for a Break
-Mrs Lakshmi Krishnan & Ms Jansi Dharmaraj

The much-awaited day of the year, yes, the class picnic was organized by Don Bosco High School, Matunga, for the students from standards 5 to 10 on 13th November, 2019. Prayer was said by the entire school once assembled in their classrooms for a safe and fun-filled picnic.
Thirty one buses packed the school quadrangle as early as 6.30 am along with the Adventure crew. Post the assembly prayer, the quadrangle was a sea of extremely excited students headed to Imagica. Standards 5 to 8 went to Imagica, Adlabs and classes 9 and 10 to Imagica, Aqua. In the bus the students entertained themselves singing songs till the time they reached the venue.
The boys were welcomed and served breakfast by the staff there. The principal Father Bernard Fernandes, the vice principal Sir Cliffrichard D’Souza, the A.H.M Mrs Christina Mascarenhas, the supervisors and the teachers were all present at the spot to ensure the safety of the children and provide them a memorable outing. We were happy to have with us our former Vice-Principal and Administrator Fr Roy Noronha who was at home with the children and the staff.
The theme park for the students of classes 5 to 8 was filled with brilliant rides such as D2, Nitro, Rajasauras, i-for-iNDIA, Salimgarh, Alibaba and the 40 thieves, Mr. India, Scream Machine and so on. The most visited rides by the students were the Nitro, the Scream Machine and the D2 that excited and enthralled them the most.
The boys of classes 9 and 10 went to Aqua Imagica. There were shuttle bus services that transported our students to the water kingdom. Locker keys were arranged for the students through the class teachers. The students then dashed to the different rides that appealed to them. They got a taste of the various exciting rides such as the lazy river, the wave pool, and the different water/tube slides. After a sumptuous lunch, many of the students went back to the water rides. A few chose to relax outside the pool.
The school buses started the homeward journey at about 5 pm and touched our school campus at about 6.15 pm. The children had a big smile on their faces indicating they had had great fun. A relaxing day for all the students and teachers as well – a fun way to strengthen the bond between the students and their teachers!
