The 26th of January 2017 marked the 68th Republic Day of India. The celebrations began with the hoisting of the tricolour by our staff who celebrate 25 years of their service at Don Bosco Matunga – Ms.Griselada, Head Teacher of the Primary section, Mrs Smita Kendre, Mrs Rosemary Chinappan and Mr. Manivannan Samudram. The silver jubilarians, along with the school management, were the honoured guests at the solemn occasion.
Class VIII D presented their assembly titled Salute the Real Heroes highlighting the important part they play in protecting our nation. It was a combination of a skit, dance and song which portrayed the spirit and the passion of our soldiers. It also depicted the hard life and the problems faced by the army. The students of Class 8 D won the admiration of the audience for their amazing talent in depicting a relevant and insightful theme at the assembly.
After the assembly, a few of the students were also felicitated with scholarships and awards for their academic and art/sports performance during the scholastic year. The celebration ended with the Principal’s message exhorting the youth of today to be passionate about their careers they choose to follow in life.
