PTA Executive Committee Meeting-Primary Section

The first Executive Committee Meeting of the P.T.A. or the Salesian Educative Community comprising the Management, staff and parent representatives of Don Bosco Primary School Matunga was held in the Conference Hall on June29,2019 at 2 p.m. to form a mutual platform for the betterment of the children as well as to facilitate smooth running of the school. The Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes welcomed the core PTA body in the new academic year and thanked the members for being part of the group to take the school forward in its vision and mission. One of the points on the agenda was the election of the office bearers of the PTA executive body. Fr. Bernard requested the parents to volunteer as candidates to contest for the post of a Vice President and the Joint Secretary. Mrs Diana Rayen, Class Representative of Std IV C was elected Vice President and Mr. Ronak Shah Class Representative of Std II B the Joint Secretary. Among the staff, MrsVailena D’Souza class teacher of Std II A and Mrs. RanjanaBhandare class teacher of Std III D were selected as the Secretary and Joint Secretary from the teachers’ representatives. By virtue of her post, the Head teacher of the Primary section, Mrs. Griselda Fernandes is the President of the Executive body.
The meeting began with a prayer led by the school administrator, Rev. Fr. Elson Barretto. A summary of the minutes of the last PTA Executive Committee meeting held in March30, 2019 were read followed by the summary of the minutes of the General Body meeting held on June 22, 2019. Thereafter, Rev. Fr. Bernard Fernandes, the Principal presented the points mentioned in the agenda.
Mrs. Griselda Fernandes, the Head Teacher of the Primary Section made a mention of the various activities in the school and the curriculum set for student’s all round development in the first term of the scholastic year. She informed the parents about the continuous comprehensive evaluation system followed in the school as per the BMC norms. Mrs Kashmira Rodrigues spoke on the major events to be held during the year.
Rev. Fr. Principal enlightened the members about the Policies of the school and requested them to be a part of the committee when called upon to help in the smooth running of the school. Ms. Sonia Kasare briefed the members about the Mental Health program(RISE)-Refine in Special Education. The school administrator Fr. Elson spoke on the new developments in the school and mentioned that with the space crunch in the school for activities, there are plans to increase the space for our students on the campus. Sir Nelson updated the staff and parents about the School App.
The meeting ended on a positive note with a reminder to journey together in joy and holiness to reach our goals.
