Prayer Service – Std IX B: Focus on our hearts!

-Ms. Lakshmi Krishna

The first Friday of the month is a special day kept aside for prayer in the school – Mass for the Catholic students and a prayer service for the others. Std. IX B organized a Prayer Service on 4th August 2017 on the theme Where there is love, there is God. The serene setting in the Gym area reflected the theme for the day.

The prayer began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Principal, Fr. Bernard Fernandes.  This was followed by meditation conducted by Ms. Lakshmi.  She directed the audience to focus on the heart and the need to love oneself and others whole-heartedly. The service continued through prayers, meaningful songs and a thanksgiving prayer to God.  The prayer service concluded reminiscing two illustrious and great human beings – St. John Bosco and Mother Teresa born in the month of August.

Fr. Principal appreciated the efforts of the class and the class teacher for a devout and significant service. Remarking on the theme of the day, Fr. Bernard said, ‘These days, students argue impulsively and tend to back answer peers, parents and teachers. Instead our attitude should be one of love and respect towards others, especially the elders. I want the students of this great institution to follow the teachings and example of Don Bosco and demonstrate politeness in every interaction.”
