It was a perfect gift by the research teams guided by Mrs. Anita Philip to the school on occasion of the curtain raiser to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the institution. They set out to create history for the school – and this dream they did achieve! Four of our teams who registered for the Research Projects on the theme ‘Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development’ had all made it through the first scrutiny round earlier on in October. On Tuesday, 16th November 2016, all the four teams first made it to the District level, and then made a clean sweep by winning the District level too. They now go to the pre-state level scrutiny. It’s a commendable achievement for our school students, given the syllabus and curriculum, stress much on content then concepts and research study. With a little extra commitment, passion for research, support from parents and a disciplined team effort, these boys have shown that it is possible to go beyond curricula and stereotyped study habits.
Their themes were:
1. Solar Energy mediated photocatalytic dye using nanoparticles.
2. Non-noble metallic nanoparticles as electrocatalysts for hydrogen generation
3. Polymer modified vegetable oil as smart industrial lubricants.
4. Solar energized photoelectric panels, an important gateway for sustainable development.
We wish our teams the very best in their next important and significant pre-state round.
