Off we go to the shrine of Don Bosco’s Madonna
-Ms. Tejashree Vesvikar
“Christmas is not just a day, an event to be observed and speedily forgotten. It is a spirit which should permeate every part of our lives,” rightly quoted by William Parks. The students and teachers of the Primary Section of Don Bosco Matunga went on a Christmas field trip to the shrine of Don Bosco’s Madonna which is on the school campus. The trip occurred on January 4, 2020 to help us experience the splendid and divine Madonna and Her beloved Son Jesus Christ.
Every class from Std. I to IV visited the Shrine during school hours. The class teachers narrated the Christmas story to the children explaining it in detail. The children observed the wonderfully displayed crib there. The dazzling combination of red, green and gold decoration done with Christmas symbols grabbed the attention of the students.
The children entered the shrine in reverential silence praying with their heart filled with emotion and asked God and Mother Mary to guide them throughout the year. The children were satiated with all that they heard and seen. They penned their feedback on the field trip in a few sentences that helped in ensuring the reinforcement of the information gained.
