Little Space Explorers
by Student Reporter Raman Upadhyay-Std IX A

It was another fascinating day at Don Bosco High School, Matunga. On 18th Sep 2019, 114 Boscoites got the privilege to visit the exhibition about Space and ISRO at SIES School, Matunga. It was a great experience for all and an inspiration for some. The boys got to experience and see models of rockets and satellites.
Chandrayan 2 mission was recently in the news and it was very well elaborated through some educational videos. The students saw India’s earlier satellites and space initiatives. Apple, Bhaskara, INSAT, PSLV and GSLV were exhibited as models that caught the attention of the visitors. Not only the students but also the teachers got engaged and couldn’t resist talking to the resource persons manning the stalls. Some upcoming ISRO missions were highlighted through models and videos. The most liked mission was Gaganyaan, India’s first program to put a citizen in space.
There were competitions related to space that were conducted simultaneously at the venue. Master Harsh Malviya of Std VII won the 3rd place on space drawing.
‘The exhibition was well organized and engaging’ were the descriptors used by eye witnesses. A bus-full of 114 students returned to school with their hearts happily swollen with this wonderful experience.
