Little Firefighters on a Field Trip
-Ms. Christy Jagdish
It’s very important to know how to keep ourselves safe. The students of Std.III visited the Wadala Fire station on February 28th, 2019 along with their class teachers to supplement their knowledge of fire fighters and fire safety.
At the venue, the students got to learn about the various parts of the fire truck, the importance of fire drill and exit signs. They witnessed how firefighters use their fire truck in an emergency. The firefighters exhibited their protective uniform which they wear while fighting fires, the fire truck and all of the equipment they have on board.
Mr.Vaibhav Wabale, Senior Officer stated, “Fire Brigade is the first team to respond, arrives in minimum time to rescue the people in an emergency or fire”. The fire brigade men demonstrated the techniques to set off the fire. The students had a hands-on experience as they got a chance to hold on to the hose pipe to spray water.
“We were excited to explore the fire-station, thanks to our school”, says Ethan D’Mello of III B, expressing his views.
It was an informative and enriching experience for our little firefighters.
