Students of Std. X gained a wealth of information regarding careers in the Merchant Navy through a seminar conducted by Capt. K.N.Deboo and Capt. Sudipto Dasgupta, who emphasized the immense scope of this profession today and in the times to come. Capt. Deboo, Director of ‘The Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy’ and an alumnus of Don Bosco High School, Matunga, gave the boys an overview of what a career in the merchant navy entails. Taking the boys through this hitherto unfamiliar territory proved to be a massive hit, as the boys were engrossed and curious to learn more. More they did deliver, as Capt Dasgupta walked them through illustrative videos and thought provoking deliberations. The seminar concluded with a question and answer session on the minutiae and the magnitude of this métier. To quote the Captain, “If shipping was stopped, half the world would starve and the other half would freeze.”

A sincere word of thanks from us at Don Bosco, Matunga to Capt. Deboo and Capt. Dasgupta for animating this session at an apt time for our students.
