Field trip – Sr. Kg: A visit to our neighhouring schools

-Ms. Tasneem J.

The Sr Kg students went for their first field trip of the new academic year. Everyone was excited to go out with their classmates leaving behind the routine classroom situation. This field trip was designed to enhance the learning experience of the children as it was related to the topic taught during this month, “my school and my classroom”.  The field trip included a visit to the neighbouring schools of the area.

The children first visited St. Joseph’s High School, Wadala, where the children got to see the school hall, church, canteen and the school playground.  The next stop was at Canossa Convent Girls High school, Mahim.  Here the children visited the Kg classrooms, where they interacted with the students and also their teachers. They sang songs and recited poems. The last stop was Don Bosco International School on the Matunga campus itself. The children walked along the corridors and observed the educational display boards. They were inquisitive about the display boards and charts in the classrooms.

Upon their return to class, the boys were asked to draw the scenes/things they encountered during the day as a recap of the trip. This field trip gave the boys an opportunity to observe different schools and helped make the teaching-learning process more effective.
