The newly-elected executive committee of the Salesian Educative Community, or the P.T.A. of the Secondary Section of Don Bosco High School, Matunga, came together for the inaugural meeting of the academic year 2016-2017.
Rev. Fr. Wilfred D’Souza, Rector, invoked God’s blessings on the gathering. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Bernard Fernandes initiated the proceedings, beginning with the election of the office bearers. The teachers nominated the Secretary and Joint Secretary from among the parents, with Mrs. Daphne Pereira and Mr. Prashant Kate giving their gracious consent.
The agenda comprised academics as well as co curricular activities, from learning disabilities and remediation to the discipline and behaviour policy of the school. Inputs on the N.C.C., R.S.P., Scouts, Cubs, Social Service as well as the Work Education classes for Class IX were given. Parents were urged to guide their children for the Mykensho career guidance programme.
Rev. Fr. Principal also reminded the parents about the highlight of the year, the upcoming jubilee celebrations at Don Bosco, Matunga, beginning November 2016.
