Bidding a fond adieu to Mrs Blanche
-Ms. Rytika Pereira
“How lucky are we to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.” It’s not the retirement, it’s the completion of a dedicated and successful term in this institution!
We the staff of Don Bosco, Matunga bid a fond adieu to our retiring Kg. teacher Mrs Blanche D’Souza on the 31st of August 2019. The day began with the boys of the pre primary section giving their dear teacher Mrs. Blanche handmade flowers and bookmarks as a token of love and appreciation. Thereafter the staff of the pre primary and primary gathered to express our thanks to a colleague and friend, to show how much we have cherished the time we have spent with her.
Ms Tasneem welcomed our management, staff and Ms Blanche. The programme began with our Rector Fr. Crispino leading us in prayer. Ms Bianca then expressed a warm and special address on behalf of the staff which was presented to Ms Blanche by our non-teaching staff member Mrs. Jamuna. To add beauty to these memories Ms Colleen presented a bouquet of flowers while a small token of thanks from the entire staff of the primary and pre primary was offered by Ms Valeina. The Pre-Primary staff gave a card that expressed their emotions, thanks, love and admiration for Ms. Blanche. Our Principal Fr. Bernard Fernandes shared a few great qualities that distinguished Mrs. Blance-a strong woman with a very warm heart especially for the children. Fr. Bernard appreciated the 26 committed years of service by Ms Blanche in the kindergarten section of the school.
The nightingales of the primary and pre primary section regaled the gathering with a medley of songs accompanied by Sir Saby Franco on the keyboard. Ms Blanche addressed the management and staff and thanked each and every one present in that room for making every moment of hers so memorable in this institution. She ended by giving the young teachers a word of advice-to be honest and do their best. Refreshments were served to the staff which were organised by the Kg Supervisor Mrs. Shoba. The programme ended with Mrs. Quency reading a beautiful poem and thanking Ms Blanche for her gift to this hallowed institution.
Au revoir Mrs Blanche. We will miss you!
