Setting aside academics for a while and getting warmed up for the Sports festival, the boys of Sr Kg celebrated their first Sports Day on 30th November 2016. The theme was ‘ Sports changes hearts’. Boys from each class welcomed their parents for their first Sports Day.
The day’s program began with the welcome of the Chief guest, Fr. Rector, and the members of the Management. The flag bearer marched with full zest holding the school flag and he was followed by the mini band. Their chemistry created a unique style of music. The torch bearer, our swimming champion, ran the last lap holding the torch high up symbolizing excellence and hope. Each class of the Sr KG was ushered into the arena for a drill display by the Jack of Hearts. He was followed by the mascots of each class ‘The King of Hearts and The Queen of Hearts’. The boys dressed in coloured jersey performed a drill synchronizing gross body movement. The Sportsman prayer was recited and thereafter the boys jogged to their places. Our Chief Guest then declared the Sports festival for 2016-2017 open.
The qualified boys had their last round of flat race and thereafter each and every child participated in the fun race that was organized for them. Participating in various games develop a feeling of sporting spirit. The fun races were:
1.Making a bouquet of hearts.
2. Stringing hearts.
3. Dress like the King of hearts.
4. Sorting of hearts.
5. Filling bottles with water.
There was a separate event for the parents and it was wonderful to see them energetically.
The winners takes it all…. the Chief Guest gave away the certificates to the prize winners. Boys from each class expressed gratitude through the vote of thanks. The day’s program came to an end with the Chief Guest declaring the Sports festival 2016 – 2017 closed.
