A solemn Investiture Ceremony of our student leaders

-Ms. Perpetual Nazareth

On 5th July, 2017, the school witnessed a solemn investiture ceremony of the newly elected school leaders for 2017-18. The school management team was accorded a grand welcome through a guard of honor by the NCC cadets with the school band in attendance. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp and was followed by a thought provoking assembly by Std. 8E class posing a relevant thought, ‘WE NEED SAINTS.  DO YOU WANT TO BE ONE?’ Through the skit the class demonstrated how Dominic Savio is the saint who still continues to inspire teenagers to lead a holy life like him.

A good leader is one who knows the way, shows the way and goes the way. Fr.Rector’s message highlighted this virtue when he spoke of the three P’s- Profit, Power and Personal glorification that each leader should avoid and the three S’s – Sacrifice, Selflessness and Service that ought to be pursued by every virtuous leader.  Fr.Rector ‘s message was followed by the oath-taking ceremony. The leaders were invested with symbols of authority and they promised to act as beacons of selflessness, humility and discipline.

On this auspicious occasion, the Nature club and the NCC students undertook a tree plantation drive urging one and all to wake up the leader within us to protect our nature and environment. This initiative was taken by the nature club members and NCC cadets ably supported by their teachers Ms. Lakshmi, Barkha and team.
