Life is precious
-Ms Nicolette D’Souza and Student Reporter
On 25th September, there was a magnificent display of talent at the class assembly of Std 9D. This last assembly for the first term of the academic year 2019-20 was based on the theme “Life is precious, handle it with love and prayer”.
The assembly began with a meditation session conducted by Mrs Bela. The skit that followed introduced the scene of a few friends discussing how being rich guarantees a luxurious life. They detailed the lives of three world famous celebrities-Michael Jackson, Robin Williams and Avicii. They stressed the tragic and miserable end of their lives. Their professional life and public persona was immaculate, but their personal life was a wreck and this led them to end their lives. The underlying message of the skit was that money cannot buy happiness. All good things viz. family, job, even food and water are pleasures that are gifts from God to satisfy humankind. Chasing bigger and better lifestyles and longing for more leads to misery and despair.
Father Crispino D’Souza, the Rector, lauded the efforts of class IX D and their class teacher Mrs Nicolette for the well-planned and well-executed assembly and praised the talents of the students at speech and music. Fr. Crispino ended with a beautiful message on the importance of the presence of people in our lives and that material wealth does not matter. He also stressed on the expression that “Life is precious” and gave an example of the famous tennis star Novak Djokovic and his secret to successful life.
The principal Father Bernard Fernandes also appreciated the class for their efforts and made a special mention of the talented musicians and singers in the class.
